What is the RICE Way Challenge

The RICE Way Challenge is an exciting and impactful initiative launched in honor of National Black Business Month by RICE.

The RICE Way Challenge is a movement. This initiative aims to generate $100,000 in support for Black-owned businesses through encouraging people to “shop black” through a series of community-driven efforts. By participating in this challenge, community members can directly contribute to the economic empowerment of Black entrepreneurs, fostering growth and sustainability within the Black business community.

How to get involved with
The RICE Way Challenge

Shop Black

RICE encourages individuals to make a conscious effort to support Black-owned businesses throughout the month of August. This can be done by purchasing products and services from our list of Stakeholders or any Black-owned businesses to increase revenue and visibility for Black entrepreneurs

Engage and Share

Engage with RICE and our Stakeholders through social media. By sharing success stories, participating in online discussions, and using the dedicated hashtag #RICEWayChallenge and #RICEReady, participants can help us amplify the voices of Black entrepreneurs and highlight their achievements.

Throughout the month, RICE will highlight the program and initiatives we have intentionally built to support Black businesses.

Networking Opportunities

This month we’re using our NBBM online platform to allow entrepreneurs to connect with some of RICE’s mentors, coaches, and partners. Click here to reach out to RICE with questions regarding your business!

Black Friday Marketplace Event

A highlight of the challenge, this marketplace event will showcase products and services from RICE Stakeholders, offering a platform for Black entrepreneurs to reach new customers and expand their market presence. Join us for Black Friday, a vibrant community marketplace hosted by the Russell Center! This exciting event showcases our amazing RICE Stakeholder companies—entrepreneurs with incredible products and services. Bring your family and friends to support Black businesses, discover unique finds, and enjoy fantastic deals in a fun-filled atmosphere.
